A new year.

January always brings such hopes, doesn't it?

We promise ourselves new beginnings, new projects, new plans, and some of those we even manage to keep for a while.

I've given up on new years' resolutions. I don't think one ever made it to February.

There are lots of things I would like to achieve this year -- losing some weight (working on it), learning to use my camera, getting back to budgeting sensibly, and teaching the kids to cook.

But I'm not resolving to do any of them, because that's a recipe for disaster for me.

Instead, I'll simply say these are some of the things I would like to do, and we'll see how I go.

What about you? are you brave enough to make resolutions? or are there just some things you'd like to try?

  1. great to read your posts again Toni ... missed them :) no NY resolutions for me this year .... just gonna take ONE DAY AT A TIME :)

  2. I've missed you. I don't make new year resolutions either, and like Scrappin' Girl ... to just make it through life one day at a time is enough of a challenge for me. If I have resolved to do anything this year, it is to overcome this depression, let go of the past, and focus on the positives. Survival, sweetie, survival.

    1. You GO, girl!! being a survivor is SO awesome. XXX

  3. Keeping my head above water is the only 'resolution' I need to make - anything else that I achieve is a bonus!! That said, I certainly PLAN to achieve other things - some of them specific - but plans are different to resolutions, right?? Happy New Year!

    1. The best laid plans.... that's why I like them -- they never go according to ... well, plan!

  4. I hope 2014 proves to be a good year for you and yours!

  5. You snuck in!

Good idea not to make a resolution, Toni. They're all totally doomed. Your "wishes" are all rather lovely, though! x

Hey, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I love to hear what you have to say even if you disagree with me. I have only one request -- please keep it polite.
