twinchies
We have just finished organising a twinchie (2x2 inch) swap at AD, the criteria was STARS and I asked everyone to back with chippie simply so the twinchies would be sturdy.

SCRAP the GIRLS!!
I got a big and lovely surprise this week, as one of my fave scrappers -- Kayla Renee -- took over the STG blog. Have to say, I have been so busy with "my" forums that I have never checked this out before, and went over for a look just to see what KR was up to. But I'm very impressed! There are some lovely LO entries for August to stickybeak at, and I have signed up for ANOTHER vintage swap.
So if you haven't checked it out before, go now.

more vintage tags
We are doing a vintage tags swap at AD and I volunteered to do 2 lots to make up numbers. I plan to have one lot framed and send them to my Nana, hope she likes them!
The first ones I did had a dressmaking theme, scroll down to see the pics..
So here are the second lot

INCHIES SWAP!
For those who have never heard of them, inchies are like one-inch square mini LOs!
We made 100 of them, 10 each in 10 different designs, in our assigned colour, then sent them all in, and got back one of each kind. I have stuck mine to a 12x12 sheet of white CS and am currently hunting down a 12x12 frame for them. When it is done I will hang it in my scrapspace as a reminder of all the fabulously talented girls at AD!
August challenge
This is my August challenge at AD -- it's a number challenge - you need to do
5 layers (mine are CS, PP, ricrac, photo, embellies)
4 types of embellies (mine are chippie, wood flourish, flowers, ricrac)
3 flowers or stars or circles - NOT LAYERED
2 PPs (mine are from the same range but different patterns)
1 quote (mine is from Wind in the Willows)
Why not head over and take a look at the other challenges?

sex on public radio
Like much of Australia, I am appalled by this story in the news today.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/07/29/2640311.htm
There are just so many levels of wrong here, it's hard to know where to begin. I am not going to focus on Sandilands' obviously inappropriate comment - the man was clearly floundering - but really! you open up a LIE DETECTOR and fail to think there's potential for trouble? HELLOOO!
What kind of idiots even entertain the possibilty of allowing someone to ask sex questions of their 14 yo in the first place?? Why did the radio station think it was acceptable for a minor to be questioned like this??
And what kind of person thinks they might get quality parenting help from disc jockeys??? None of these people are professionals, trained to handle issues dealing with drug use and underage sex.
I sincerely hope that the mother is ashamed of herself, and that authorities are looking into that family situation. I sincerely hope the radio station responsible is heavily fined and begins to form some kind of moral policy regarding what is esentially a stunt. I sincerely hope Sandilands and Jackie O learn from this and NEVER do anything like it again.
And I sincerely hope someone is looking out for that poor little girl.

interacting
Terri set us this interactive challenge at AD this week. We had to make a LO with elements that pop-up, slide, spin etc.... nearly did my head in till I found some gorgeous pop-up patterns on-line!
I used some BG papers and cut out some of the flowers to make layers. I also used up some swap items and a couple of gorgeous butterflies made by the lovely Jackie (this is not what they were made for but she sent me plenty to play with)
I also used some of the lyrics from Dolly Partons' song around the edges of the largest butterfly. I LOVE this LO, and more importantly, so does Katie!
