This movie is just chock full of piratey goodness.
If you're not a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean flicks, I don't know if you would enjoy this one.
But if Jack is your Captain, GO SEE THIS MOVIE. NOW!
No, no, I mean, put down that mouse and go NOW.... because this one is so damn good.
Whats-is-name and the shrieky girl are again absent (good) but Jack is his charming roguish self, and Barbossa is back, as bad as ever --albeit missing a leg.
Ian McShane is wonderful as the evil and infamous Blackbeard, and there are plenty of gags and stunts and one-liners.
Watch out for a particularly good stunt where Jack 'runs' away from the Kings' men through a crowded London street.
And.
You know.
Johnny Depp.
Does it have to have anything else????
I love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I'm going to see On Stranger Tides next Wednesday night when it's on laocally. I got a free ticket through my work union, yay me!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow.
I don't think any other actor could have carried it off as well as he does.
I love Johnny Depp too. Mmmmmm.
Oh yes Johnny - not much more needed really :) Cazxx
ReplyDeleteHmmm Johnny Depp. The only crush I had from when I was young that I still have. First saw him in 21 Jump St (which I rewatched the other day OMG LOL) and LOVE him as Capt'n Jack.
ReplyDeleteNow to bug hubby to look after the little one while I go indulge me in a little Jack on payday ;)
I loved him in Secret Window as well....
ReplyDeleteLOL. Not sure I'll race out, but I get why you love it.
ReplyDeleteOMG. I too saw 21 Jump Street recently. I couldn't believe how much I loved it back then when I was a teenager. It doesn't seem to have the same vibe as is it did 20+ years ago, but yes, Johnny is still ridiculously good looking ...
OMG !!! 21 Jump Street was a fav .. way back when ???? and LURV the "PIRATES" movies!!! wil have to run out and see this one for sure!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know Johnny Depp REFUSES to talk about 21 Jump Street? Hates it.
ReplyDeleteMy bf loves "Pirates". I know she will be first in line when it opens at her local cinema.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to all the black humour. It's so funny you have to wonder if the writers are British, not American.
Can;t wait to see it myself :)
Oh, drooling right now in a very Homer Simpson kinda way! And if it wasn't 5am I'd be at that cinema right now!
