scaredy-cat

Uh-oh. I knew this would happen. I started re-reading all my Stephen Kings, and now I'm scared to go to bed.

The worst book he ever wrote (scariest) is The Shining. Scared the CRAP out of me both times I plucked up the courage to read it. And I read it in Jack Nicholsons' voice, which made it even worserer.
I don't know that I'll ever be brave enough to give it a third outing.

I've finished IT, and I'm half-way through From A Buick 8, and then The Talisman is looking good -- it's been a long time since I walked the Territories with Jack Sawyer.

  3. Ohh, The Talsiman was my favourite book when I was younger. At least once a year I'd steal it out of my mother's bookshelf and re-read it.

  5. yeah The Shining was BAD.

My fave SK is The Stand, I couldn't tell you how many times I've read it.
Sadly, it's Fabios' favourite, too, and he loves it so much he wants EVERYONE to read it.
We've lost several copies in the last ten years.....

  6. I love The Talisman! I still have a copy and read it about once a year or so. The Shining didn't scare me, but Christine did. I read it once and couldn't pick it up ever again.

  7. I think The Shining reminded me of my dad. Not that he ever went postal with an axe, but we had some pretty scary times when he'd been drinking.

    Looking forward to Talisman! :)

  8. Oh, why do you do it to yourselves!!! I HATE scary stuff, movies and books, I just can't go there. I watched Gremlins at the tender age of 5, and the need to keep all appendages in the light where I can see them at all times and jump to my bed from the door after turning off the lights is still with me today.

  10. In Scaredy Cat, Porky Pig purchases a new home from a real estate agent, which turns out to be a dilapidated old house.
