sew and sew

I accidentally went shopping at Spotlight yesterday, and picked up some more felt animal sewing kits for the Princess.

She got a few (from the local dollar shop!) for Christmas, and they're easy enough for her to do on her own, with just an occasional assist from Mum.

Since yesterday afternoon, she's made a bunny and a cat, and she just LOOOOOVES sewing! It's so funny to listen to her, because she chats away to the animal while she's stitching it, and of course she does both sides of the conversation.

She's really keen on embroidery too, though all I have is adult supplies, so I'm on the look-out for kids tapestry kits etc now.
It's not as easy as you might think to get this stuff. For a long time no sewing/embroidery kits at all, and now they sell out as soon as they come in, so I have to be quick.

It's good to see -- I love it that she enjoys sewing, and I'll encourage that as much as I can. And I think in the winter it might be time to teach her to knit.

  1. I've noticed Spotlight has some good kids cross-stitching kits too.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I love to hear what you have to say even if you disagree with me. I have only one request -- please keep it polite.
Thankyou.
